I am a Time Warner subscriber for cable and am trying to use the Watch ESPN app on my new Galaxy -- SCH-1535 with Android 4.1.1

The app worked fine on my Incredible 2 and Rezound.

With the Galaxy, I run the app and try to sign in as a Time Warner subscriber....I get an error on the page and never get a chance to enter my user name/password info.

I had a similar issue. The time warner info takes a long time to load up. But eventually it will load up and allow you to login. Did you also install the adobe air app as well?

No, my Time Warner Screen never loads...the screen goes black, but "behind" the black, you can see an error message saying the "Webpage is not available"...and the URL is in a day-glo purple font.
If I choose one of the other providers - Verizon Fios, for example -- the log in page opens fine. (Of course, I can't log in through these other providers since I don't have them!)

I tried using the app but it turned out I was not eligible but I did see a telephone number when I was having a problem and they actually answer the phone

Well I'm not sure what to tell you. It works for me. Then again I have a galaxy nexus.

Yeah, my problem only started when I switched from the Rezound...so don't know if it's a Galaxy S3 problem, or a Android 4.1.1 problem.....or maybe the Time Warner sign in screen requires Flash?

I'm on 4.1.1 stock no root. So its not a 4.1.1 problem and jelly bean doesn't use flash. Did you install adobe air?

It may be a gs3 issue since it works fine on my galaxy nexus and I have time warner as well.

When you go to sign in, you're redirected to TW's servers, so ESPN is correct that the problem is most likely on their end. I don't have TW, so I can't test myself, but does their login page utilize Flash? That would explain why folks with older devices are able to connect while newer ones cannot.

One other thing to try that I don't think has been mentioned here: To those with problems, have you tried logging in from mobile network AND home wifi (assuming your home wifi is provided by TW as well)? Maybe it's a DNS issue?

Ok. I think I have figured it out. At least for mine and it seems to be the same issue with twc666. If I use my mobile network, then I can never get to the login screen. If I connect through a wifi connection, it will work every time. I tried it twice both ways, to verify the results.

That's weird, but it works for me that way too...if I disable the mobile network and go through wi-fi, it loads the Time Warner log in page....mind you, my home internet is NOT Time Warner!

So, loading the page with wifi loads the page, loading with the mobile networks leads to an error. This makes no sense to me...

And it doesn't really solve my problem, because I want to be able to use Watch ESPN on my phone when I DON'T have wifi....if I have wifi, I would use my iPad!!

On further examination, by logging in using wifi, then shutting down wifi and restarting the mobile network, I was able to then make the app work on strictly the mobile network.
It "remembered" that I had already logged on successfully....so it's a workable work around...at least temporarily!

But that brought up another problem I have with this phone....after shutting off the mobile network and turning off wifi, I had to restart the phone to restablish the 4G connection. I tried turning Mobile data on and off, but it couldn't connect. The same thing happened earlier tonight..I was on the subway and when I got off it still couldn;t connect to 4G (or 3G or anything, actually), until I restarted the phone...

This sounds like a dns issue on Verizon's mobile network then....

The Galaxy Note 2 doesn't support Flash and thats why it doesn't work. I know we can sideload Flash but that way the Watch Espn app doesn't see it. Why, I don't know.

This is a Galaxy S3 forum, not Note 2, although since Jelly Bean, the S3 doesn't support Flash either. That is not the problem here, however, as it was confirmed by several here that if they are connected to wifi the logon page loads, just not when using mobile data, which indicates an issue getting to the site (such as routing or DNS), rather than a Flash issue. If the issue were strictly dependent on Flash, then it wouldn't work over wifi either.

I have a Bionic with 4.1.1 which I also believe does not natively support flash but I loaded flash player Archived Flash Player versions and I can use watch ESPN

Watch ESPN app will work without Flash loaded at all -- I use it on my Nexus 10 all the time, and it has never had Flash. Some questioned that perhaps the login site for TW utilized Flash, and therefore was preventing it from opening, however that has been proven to not the be the case.
