Waterproof/Water resistant hard case for the Nexus 7?

Hi all, hoping to get some insight about this on these forums.

I'm planning on getting a Nexus 7 for school, some of which will included outdoor labs(I'm a forestry student). Though I don't plan on using the tablet in the poring rain, it would be nice to know that my Nexus is at least somewhat protected from the elements.

So far my searches have not turned up nothing in terms of completely waterproof hard cases, however the Trident Aegis and Seido Dilex both seemed to be water resistant.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Thanks!

How about 2 quart freezer bags, I used my OG Droid in South East Alaska out side in the drizzle, inside of a zip loc bag and it was fine, stayed dry.

I use bread bags for my camera gear when shooting in the rainy woods. They work great and the cost can't be beat.

One thing about your tablet is it may work strange if your fingers are wet. The screen operate on capacitance which is very different when you hands are wet.

Here's my set up for sandy, dusty, or wet conditions: Trident/Aegis case inside the E-Case (17). The 13 may be a better choice without a hard case, but I think the opening would be pretty tight getting in and out with the hard case on. Haven't tried it, but that's my guess. Screen contact through the E-Case is good -- Fruit Ninja tested and approved :-) -- and access to the power button is easy even thought it's slightly recessed within the hard case. The hard case by itself is certainly not waterproof... Small openings for the camera, speakers, etc., and the lip could easily allow water to move through to the screen's edge. That's about all I can say without a field test, and I probably won't post any more unless there's a problem that arises. Cheers, and good luck with your fieldwork.

Thanks, ended up ordering a Poetic Revolution case because it was a much better price. I may have to invest in one of those waterproof covers as I believe the Poetic case only offers about as much protection as the Trident.

My take on the PRev v. TAegis... I didn't need/want a stand, and the PR stand is just one more part that can break; TA has a broader lip; and screen protector stays on the device if you ever want to take the case off. I got the TA case for $33.96 incl. 10% off ($39.91 total with shipping)... The ECase from LLBean with 10% and Free Shipping ($33.25)... Not bad for the amount of protection provided. Hope the PRev works for you. Cheers.
