Wave Launcher

Hey there, Oren Todoros here from AppsMarketing.mobi, representing Wave Launcher. Glad to see you enjoyed the app. Just a quick mention that Wave Launcher is now the Top Paid Tools app on the Android Market!

I bought it yesterday. Seems to work very well. I am curious what enhancements, if any, you plan on doing in the future.

it looks cool. I've given up on supplemental launchers if they cost money. I find that I use them with certain themes I make and then never again. I paid for circle launcher, which was also the top paid tools app for a bit, and now I don't even have it on my phone anymore. swipebad, though still in beta, I never use either.

Anyone use this with launcher pro? I use the swipe gesture features in LPP a lot for the dock, does this intervene?

Hi Oren. Congratulations!

BTW, I uninstalled it and am using now SwipePad because it supports more apps (12 vs 5 in Wave Launcher). Not as nice as your app but more functional for me.

In case you are taking feature requests:

1. Support a shorcut to open the app drawer. I wanted to get rid of my Launcher Pro dock but could not figure out how to have 'open app drawer' functionality in WL.

2. Allow to change text labels. I used LaunchPro app icon to go to home page but wanted to label it as 'home' rather than 'launcher pro'.

3. Support more short cuts.

Hi Kamtsa,
I'm Lior, the developer of Wave Launcher and owner of MobileMerit. We're just 3 weeks after our first release, with tons of added features:
  • Support up to 12 apps on the wave
  • Customizable icons (Currently we support any ADW theme icons)
  • Fully customizable gesture-area
  • Support for recent-apps on the wave (Now with the new "Smart-recents" feature)
  • Optional persistence notification
  • Optional selection leds for user-apps, recent-apps.
  • Optionally remove labels
  • Improved graphics
  • Custom colors will be added tomorrow.
  • Specialized app-drawer is on the way...
  • Much more is already cooking.

Everyone is welcome to join our facebook page to keep up with the frequent updates.

Here's a link to the Wave Launcher on the Android Market.

Hi Lior. That's very exciting! I am very impressed with the quality of your app. Great graphics and very elegant UIl. Looking forward for 12 apps support. (possibly you can also support 'folders' so selecting a folder icon reveal another page with 12 user selectable sub icons and so on).

BTW, a minor issue, when the swiping is from the left edge, if I move the finger to the center of the screen and then move it left to the left icon, the icons seems to disappear prematurely, about 4-5 mm before I reach the left edge.

Edit: my ideal phone configuration is to have a one page launcher with few widgets (weather etc) and do all my app dispatching using Wave.

Kamtsa, the 12 icon support is already there. The problem you've mentioned about the premature dismiss is also solved already. Just update to the latest version :)

We have something similar in functionality to the folders you mentioned already planned. Too bad there are only 24 hours a day ;)

Seems to work alot better if I'm not using a live wallpaper.

I'm using adw launcher as an app on top of launcher pro and wave launcher works everywhere, 12 app wave no problem.

12 apps work great!

Lior, have you considered to pull the current icon on top of all the others? (currently partially hidden by the icon to the right).

Noticing a little bit of lag with it... otherwise I'm really enjoying it. I missed a task switcher like this coming from BlackBerry. I still own a 9650 and it's my primary cellphone, but I have a Galaxy Tab that I use for almost everything. Even downloaded HeyWire for free texting. ;)

I had a problem where pressing the spacebar on my virtual keyboard wouldn't work half of the time. I'm assuming this was because of Wave Launcher. Aka the phone was recognizing it as a wave launcher press and not a keyboard press. Any news on this?

You can control the location, size and width of the Wave active area to minimize interference with other apps. It is under Wave's Settings.

Do you mean lag until the launched app opens? I also notices it(as well as in Swipe Pad). I just learned to trust it and be patient. ;-)

You can also set it to activate from the left or right side so it doesn't interfere with the keyboard.

This is actually one of the things I was missing after switching to Android from Webos a couple months ago. Works great! Allowing it to acccess 12 apps is awesome!

Never used Webos but after using Wave for few weeks I can't imaging using Android without it. I can access my tops apps with a single swipe.
