We are rooted BUT....STILL

not able to download an .apk directly to the device and install from my browser. Says your device has a security to prevent open source applications from being installed.


Am I missing something? I thought rooting did exactly that?! Allowed you to install any application at any time and be a solution to ATT locking down the device from open sourcing...

Rooting alone won't change the phones behavior. You need to change the setting that allows the phone to sideload apps. Did you follow the instructions on un-crippling your device in the sticky at the top?
