For the record, my post was up way before it was posted by Phil on Android Central and once again i'm pissed on by Phil.

I'm not sure I dig that "second" small screen thing. But maybe I'm just a biased Fascinate owner.

I find the phone kind of strange. The concept is quite interesting, but the design just does not appeal to me IMO.

I think that because this is not a "Galaxy" phone, and there is a different ROM likley required to drive the additional screen space, etc., this will become the next Droid Incredible. It will be the red-headed step-child in terms of updates, accessories, updates, after-market accessories, updates and updates... If it gets ANY updates.

No, it's definitely a Galaxy S phone. Says so on the back.

Decided I'm going to replace my fiance's BB storm 2 this Christmas, and this is the leading candidate. Great display, a lil slimmer design which is great for smaller hands, and the news ticker thing could be nice to get good info w/o using full screen (less battery)

Sure would like some (and assume some are coming) reviews on the camera (low light picture quality?) As well as on the wifi antenna strength...looking to see what bugs are found w/ this device and it's so new...

I played with this thing for bout 20 min at the Verizon store. Wasn't liking the size, felt weird IMO. I like the feel and the screen size on the Fascinate much better. Everything looked smoother. I'm sure the ticker at the bottom gets better with more customization but the senor and the screen wasn't working for me. Nice idea just not the greatest phone. And does this still ship with 2.1?

BTW, Phonedog came out with a two part review of the phone that I watched Monday....good low light camera shooting apparently, and an overall great review, with the drawbacks being that the ticker still can use some more functionality, and the smaller screen.

GPS was indicated to lock on right away, antenna very good in a VZW deadspot, and did not drop any calls. The quadrant test matched it right in line with other Galaxy S phones and the battery was reviewed as good as well.

Based on who I'm buying this for, the smaller screen doesn't concern me....just hoping there aren't any other bugs that haven't been reported yet.

So far in the shopping I've done, I've found (today) Wal-Mart offering at 89.99 although it ships through its Letstalk service which has some bad ripoffreport.com listings. The other cheap deal I found is on wirefly for only $10 more....

....so anyone else found better deals that we should know of????

No trackball

I miss the trackball for navigating the screen; most smartphones have one.
I assume we are suppose to move the cursor on the screen by finger tap to select or move focus without selecting object on the screen.
I find it very difficult to back up and fix text in a sentence.
Anyone else have this issue?

Yeah, at first I wasn't too thrilled with how you went back and edited text. After awhile though I am noticing I am able to just tap on the screen in the right places now. I guess practice makes perfect.
