Wear 6.0

Are you referring to the Android Wear app?

Or just an Android Wear app / device meant for Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)?

I think you guys are referring to the Android version the watch has. Android wear I believe is only uo to 1.3 and I think 1.4 is coming soon? It's all a little confusing

Yes, to me the app on the phone is the "Android Wear Companion App" and the O.S. on the watch is called "Android Wear".

When I look in the Settings/About on my watch, it says Android Wear 1.3 and Android OS 5.1.1. I'm just sayin'....

You make a valid point, Android Wear is still in its infancy, they really need to make things where its distinguishing. If I where to ask on the forum here a question, I see someone getting confused, "are they talking about their phone or watch". Your correct though.

I ask now for future reference, I've seen the O.S. referred to as Android Wear, Android Wear Devices, not being a troll here, I'm as serious as a heart attack, because I want to know when I ask a question on the forum about the app or the OS on the watch.

I'm not sure if "they" need to do anything. I think the only problem is people who don't have a clear understanding of the subject that post stuff like "is there going to be an Android Wear 6.0" that are muddying the waters.

There may be an AW 6.0 some day. But, as we're only at 1.4 now, it will probably be a pretty long time. ;-)

Will there be an Android 6.0 (i.e. an OS) update for our existing AW devices? I suspect that that is a bit like phones - i.e. it will depend on the smart watch manufacturers. Maybe Moto will do the work to support updating the Moto 360 (2015) to Android 6.0 and not do it for the Moto 360 (2014). Or maybe they'll do both, but maybe Samsung won't do it for the Gear. Who can say at this point?

We can't expect that all AW devices will all be updated to the latest Android forever. At some point, there will be new devices on the latest Android and older devices that are done and stuck on whatever older version they are on.
