Weather Channel app causes MAJOR slowdown?

Is Anyone else seeing major slowdowns when weather channel app is running in the background? Major lagging when switching screens, haptic buzzes repeating two or three times, registering screen touches in the wrong app, etc?

The first time I noticed it, apkiller showed me that there were dozens of things running in the background, so I killed everything and went about my business.

Next time I used the phone, I had the same issue. This time, I killed everything, then launched just the weather channel app. Slightly laggy now bouncing through home screens. Launch email, and then I saw the same horrible behaviour all over again. Huge lagging between screens, misreading touches, etc.

We're talking obvious problems, easily repeatable (on my phone).

Is this the case for other captivate owners? Other android phone owners?

I have not noticed any slowdown, but it does cause the gps to run quite a bit when it doesnt seem necessary.

The Weather App seems incredibly buggy to me. I can barely if ever get the maps/radar portion to work without it just coming to a stop or crashing the app.

The widget seems perfectly fine to me. I'm kind of loathe to remove it until I find a nice replacement. But whenever the app itself launches, headache.

Try going into the app settings and changing the update frequancy. That'll control how often it uses GPS to update your location to update weather. Unless you're traveling it's unnecessary to have it constantly updating location.
