Weather displayed on lock screen

Hey guys,
Is it possible to have the weather displayed on the lock screen of the s7 Edge?

To clarify when I push the power button on the phone and get the black screen with the time, date, and battery, that's where i'd like to see the weather also. Just the local temp is what i'm after. So it will says like Wed, Mar 15, 9:03 am, 80%, and then 39 deg.

I've seen a few older posts that say Weather Bug or Wunderground will do this, but I've tried both and there's no option for this in either app.

My lock screen still only shows the date, time, and battery. Is there a trustworthy weather app that will do this, or is it not possible?

Hi there. The apps you're referring to MIGHT show that information on the lockscreen, but what you're seeing (and where you want the weather information to be in) is not a lockscreen but the Always On Display (AOD). Unfortunately, you can't have weather information there.

HOWEVER there might be a workaround. AOD does display 3rd party notifications, so if you get an app that can show a persistent notification on your phone with the temperature (I think most can) then that would show on AOD as well. Downside? You'll have that weather icon in your notification bar all the time.

ah okay. I don't see any weather apps able to display on the AOD, i'd probably have to find a ROM to allow that, if one exists. Guess i'll just live with the way it is

As of present, there are no apps that can display that on AOD because AOD is locked down to just the stock options (no 3rd party 'widgets', just notifications). Some apps can display information on a lockscreen (once you turn the screen back on, the screen that shows up for you to either swipe, enter PIN/Password, wait for fingerprint, etc.), but none can do so on AOD unless you force a notification.

There will not be any settings in any of the weather apps to display information in the AOD. If you go into the settings of the weather app and allow for a persistent notification for the temperature, the temperature will appear in the AOD.

I stumbled on a fix for this. Searching for things on AOD I found there are different themes you can use, and in those themes is a toggle for notifications on the AOD. So with that turned on and having the weather app always showing in the notification bar I can now see the weather temperature displayed on the AOD like I wanted originally.

Oh, sorry, never occurred to me that you weren't displaying notifications to begin with! Yeah, that's the solution we had been suggesting but I guess if you didn't have notifications there at first it never really made sense haha. Well, glad you got it working. And like we mentioned before, the only 'downside' is that you have the weather app notification constantly in your notification bar, but double tapping the notification on AOD should also open your weather app for more detailed info.

If you go back and read, the suggestions were to turn on persistent notifications for the apps, which i had already done (again if you had read). What i stumbled on was the setting in the AOD to display notifications, which hadn't been mentioned here yet, and was set to off by default.

Which theme did you choose? I can't find a setting for it in any of the AOD themes.
