Weather Updates No longer Showing

I understand that this is a relatively minor issue and that there are other ways to get this information, but it still really annoys me. It used to be that when I swiped down on my phone to get notifications, one of the notifications would be the current weather (and location). Suddenly, though, that's just not showing up. Again, I know there are other ways to get the weather, but this was just really convenient. And it's just hard to believe that something that should be so simple could be such a problem. Does anyone know how to get those notifications back and have it actually stick this time? Thank you.

Which phone? Are you talking about weather updates from the Google app? If so, go to Settings>Apps, select Google, then Notifications, and scroll down to Current Weather Conditions, and make sure that's toggled on.

Hi. First of all, Moto G6 running Android 9. And, yes, when I go to Notifications it says "4 categories turned off" and "Current weather conditions" is not one of them. Sometimes I honestly think that that page (where you set which notifications you want to receive) is purely symbolic -- it doesn't seem to actually have any effect whatsoever. That's why I say this just shouldn't be this hard. Once I place a checkmark next to that notification name, it should simply provide the notification.

Okay, here you go. Hope it helps. Thanks.

Hmm, that should work. Try opening the Google Weather page a few times in the Google app, and see if that triggers the notifications to start showing. It might take a day or two for it to start showing up.

My thoughts exactly! But so far, still nothing.

And that's kind of my point. As I said in my original post, I know that this isn't a huge deal and that there are other ways to get the weather. But I just don't appreciate essentially getting resistance from my phone! In my mind, when I tell it to provide certain notifications, it should provide them. Period. If not, as I also already said, I don't know what the point is of that notification screen.

The thing about the Google app is that some of its features are learned over time, which is why I suggested opening the Google Weather page a few times in the Google app.
