Weather widget

My weather app is set to get the local weather in gear manager and update every hour.

My widget doesn't seem to update to local location and there's no stylize option so I am assuming it gets preferences from the app. So the location for my weather isn't always local.. Not the end of the world but would be better if the widget were (instead of opening the app if needed).

In fact, I can't rely tell how the widget knows which location to show.

Anyone else finding similar?

I've noticed things like that but attributed to the fact that location services is turned off by default when paired with the phone. Not sure if it goes on automatically when it switches to LTE. Guess I will experiment tomorrow.

So I have the non LTE frontier. I thought maybe when I add a weather widget it would let me choose the location but it didn't do that either. I do see the app has my locations so I still can't figure out how it picks the location. Since this may have been an s2 widget (eg not new) I'm a bit more perplexed.

I have the same issues with the weather widget and app. Just this morning I noticed it was still stuck on yesterday's weather even though it said it updated it at 4am. I have to manually click the refresh button at the bottom of the app to get it to update. And that often takes a couple of minutes. Glad it's not just me. I surely don't trust simply glancing at my watch for the current temp!

On the BT only version, isn't it just relaying the weather info from the phone? If you tap refresh, does it send a request to the app on the phone? If the phone can't update (for whatever reason) then the watch won't have current info.

I may be wrong. I know on the LTE variant, the location and weather is kept current.

fwiw, I did learn later that the little up / down carets on the bottom will scroll through the locations as set in the gear app on the phone, including the one that is location-based. (and yes for me the refresh does work too). So problem solved as in the OP.
