web browser for gear s2???????

How can I browse the internet on the S2???

I had opera mini on the Galaxy Gear and it was great!! Cant find ANY browsers

I hate to say it but I think samsung has gone backwards every time they released a new version of this watch in one way or another. First they removed the camera, then they removed Evernote, (notes for gear SUCKS) now they have removed the browser. And in my opinion the gear S was way better that this one. There are just to many issues with this one. I'm really kind of sorry I gave up the Gear S for this one.

because no one in their right mind wants to surf the web on a 1.5 inch round watch screen...

Well ^ that's just disrespectful. It's nice to have on the shi**er. Just because you don't find it useful, doesn't mean everyone else feels the same.

I for one am glad they did bloat it up with functions like that that are are not useful on a 1.5 inch round screen.

so far you're the only one who thinks it is..

Why would you want to go blind browsing Web pages on such a tiny screen? To use Internet on a non 3g version you need your phone nearby anyways so just browse on the phone

First of all, the OP and the second poster want it. I really don't care. Second, Opera Mini was available on the Gear S as an app. If you don't want it, you don't have to install it. That is not bloatware. Third, if you take the watch solo and wanted to Google something real quick, the browser may come in handy. All I am saying is, some people might find a use for it.

I wouldn't be able to read such a tiny browser. Can't even imagine trying. You who like it must have unbelievably good eyesight!

I'll tell you why we need one on the Gear S2.

Because when you want to log onto a public wifi network that requires a username and password, you need a browser to input and authenticate the network.

No, I don't want to surf the web on my tiny watch, but I do want it to stay remotely connected to my phone for notifications, and listen to milk music. So without the ability to connect to most public wifi's, like at the gym where I go, then I must carry my phone with me.

So if there is not some type of simple browser to input this authentication then this watch is pretty much a stand alone useless device for me.

My conclusion: Epic failure for Samsung/Tizen.

This kind of points up an ongoing problem here: People need to specify upfront whether they're talking about the S2 3G or the non-3G. Quite different animals with the potential for quite different issues.

Agreed. I've seen a more than a few posts where 3G vs BT makes a difference on my response (or lack-thereof).

My model is the SM-R730A Gear S2 3G and I'm not sure it matters in this case if it were not the 3G model, but maybe could be. I don't have a sim card for it and don't need one if wifi works where I want it to. Got the 3g model for the speaker and bigger battery.
Frustrated at this point and Samsung is no help with this issue.
