Web browser question

is there a way to view desktop versions of websites on the own browser instead of the mobile? Some websites that I go to don't have the link at the bottom for desktop view. I know on my blackberry I could change the browser settings to be identified as ie or firefox.

Dolphin HD browser has an add-on reader that lets you view web articles in a view without adds etc. Not sure if that is what you are looking for though.

Skyfire browser has a button for android, desktop or hybrid mode. I don't see an option for desktop mode in the settings of the epic, but did on my hero.
