The Bionic keeps throwing surprises at us. I want some opinions specifically on The webtop Adapter. It is being marketed as an affordable option for the webtop feature. The adapter plugs into the mini HDMI port and charging port, then via HDMI cable can hook into a Monitor or HDTV. Here is the full scoop at Droid Life: DROID Bionic Accessory Lineup Will Include Webtop Adapter for Quick, Inexpensive, On the Go Presenting and Sharing - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

So basically anything with an HDMI port (Monitor, TV, not sure about a Tablet and Laptop) can be utilized to access the webtop feature on the Bionic. It even has wireless keyboard and mouse compatibility. Not exactly sure how this would work...

Anyone thinking about picking this up as an alternative to the Lapdock?

Also anyone out there think you could hook this up to a Tablet or Laptop?

The Motorola HD Multimedia dock for the Atrix has three USB ports and an HDMI port. I seem to recall that the one for the Bionic that briefly appeared on Amazon awhile ago had the same.

It would be nice if Motorola brings out the same Motorola 89485N Entertainment Center/Webtop Access Kit for Motorola ATRIX 4G for the Bionic that includes the HD Multimedia Dock, Bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse, and a remote control. :)

The post you're referring to about Amazon (direct link to post with rear pic of the HD Dock here) was started by Sfay93 a while back.

The adapter says with a wireless mouse and keyboard, but will it work with a laptop(w/an HDMI port) as well?

I think the webtop adapter (assuming since no other pictures of the device are shown anywhere yet) is just a device that lets your phone run the webtop app and has a full-sized 'normal' HDMI plug on it so you can plug in an HDMI cable between it and your TV and/or Monitor.

When they say wireless keyboard, i'm pretty sure they mean you'd use a bluetooth keyboard/mouse as your phone would already support that. The adapter is probably nothing more than a webtop 'app-enabler' with a larger standard HDMI port on it.

Anyone else have any thoughts? I always think i'm right, but would love to know otherwise haha
