Webtop hack - bionic

I did see this option somewhere. Possibly on XDA. Let me dig some more and I'll let you know. But I did in fact read about this the other day.

You can simply plug in with hdmi and hit mirror mode. Dont need to enable webtop dont need dock. Nice thing with wetop though is the remote. Mirror is great for games too

There is a way to do it, on the xda forums I think, you need to root and run the deodexed rom to do it i think tho.. Not near my computer or I'd give you the link to it

Yeah you can do that with just the hdmi mirror, pick up a cable cheap from monoprice.com

I got a HDMI cable from monoprice, but is not working. Watched the motorola video, and it seems that once you plug the HDMI cable in then the mirror mode option appears on the screen. When i plugged the cord into my phome, nothing happened.

Is there a mirror mode option that i can manually turn on?

Do i need to buy a motorola brand cable (ugh)?

Do i need some sort of special HDMI cable?

There are cheap hdmi cables made by less than reputable manufacturers that aren't very reliable. It doesn't have to be moto branded, mine isn't. But that one just might not work.

I bought the official motorola micro hdmi cable off amazon for about $6.00. Works great, video playback, music, browsing. The nice thing about webtop and HD Dock is I can dock phone and plop on the couch with wireless mouse and keyboard and my HD tv is now a web browsing / mini pc dream. Very, very awesome! Its what sets Motorola over the edge against everyone else as far as im concerned.
