On podcast 17, they talked about "Weekend Phones". I already know this is a stupid question, Verizon has told me there is no way to keep my old phone once I upgrade to Android without paying for a second line, no discount over my current rate. I need to replace my Alltel/Verizon SCH-r500, it no longer holds a charge through the day, even with a new battery. I know I can't change providers with a CDMA phone. Even though the phone is paid for, my monthly rate hasn't decreased.
I split my time between computer consulting and the family farm. The farm is not an electronics friendly environment. Even if I buy an old cheap phone to use on the farm, a second line from another provider would cost almost as much as my current plan. Is there any creative way to get two phones on the same number?
