Weekly Photo Contest: Travel

Coming off of a week where nearly everyone here at Android Central was traveling, we thought there was no better prompt for this week's contest than "travel." Whether you flew internationally, across the state or just took a road trip to see family or friends, we're sure that you have a travel picture or two to show off this week and we can't wait to see them all.

For their efforts this week, we're going to pick two winners who will each win two very nice Ventev 6ft flat Micro-USB Charging Data Cables!

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a post below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (January 20) night at 11:59 PM ET, and announce them on the blog with next Wednesday's contest.

• Pictures must be taken with an Android device
• Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
• You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine — this is art.
• Feel free to add a little back story — we want to know how the picture came to be.
• You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
• Only one entry per week per person.

I was walking to school today and a golden glow caught the corner of my eye. I turned to see silhouettes of students walking to school cast by the rising sun. It was too cold outside to stay for too long (-24 celsius) Captured by the Moto X (2013), cropped to magnify the interesting parts of the photo and auto-enhanced by Google+. My favorite bit is the one student walking while the other group of students wait at the crosswalk.

View from Regal Airport Hotel at the Hong Kong International Airport. After a week of backpacking and staying at hostels, it was a treat to stay one last night at the airport. This was the view in the morning just as I was leaving to catch the plane. you can see the runway and planes landing and taking off.

Took this photo while in Garmisch, Germany. I was drinking a Spezi on top of some mountain when I realized I should probably take a photo (It'll last longer), since I was in the Alps. Then this happened.

On a recent trip up north in Scotland I captured this picture of the coast line while in my car (my car was stationary) taken in auto mode with my Note 4.

Taken in Puerto Vallarta last week, January 10th. It's a series of HDR images I took with Google Camera with my Nexus 5, then stitched together with AutoStitch. I would have used the Pano feature on Google Camera, but the results aren't high-res enough, aren't HDR, and the stitching method isn't that great for moving things like water. We were taking pictures of a sunset when a guy in a condo above us nicely invited us up to see the sunset from the roof of the condo. We made friends with him and invited him to our dinner that night. So fun!

Location - Hehuanshan 合歡山; also called Joy Mountain) - 11,207 ft mountain in Central Taiwan.
We arrived a little before noon, the clouds & fog happened to be below our hotel elevation. As you can see, we were floating on the clouds.
