Weird audible Verizon ads when playing Words With Friends

My wife has the Note 2 and, all of a sudden, when she plays WWF, there's a loud verbal ad pushing Verizon services that seems to piggy back on the WWF app. There's no indication of this audible process in the notification menu when it's happening and, so far, the only thing we can do is to let it complete. Even if you close down WWF while this verbal ad is going, it continues until it ends. The whole thing is very weird.

Anyone else experience this and, if so, do you know of a fix?

I know of nothing to block audible ads, some apps just have them and you have to just let them play. It is attached to the app. Myself, I refuse to have games and apps that do that and I uninstall them and send a message to the developer telling them I am unistalling because of ads and if they ever offer paid ad free, to let me know and I would reinstall.. I would rather pay for an app than have ads.

Tell your wife to switch to Word Chums. Its way more fun than words with friends. I was a long-time user of WWF and more recently WordFeud. Once I gave Word Chums a try I dumped the other (paid) games to exclusively play WC. I'm a bit of a word game addict...

I too have a note 2 through tmobile and am getting audible ads AFTER I close WWF. I called t mobile two days ago and they were also perplexed. I was told though how to go in by holding the large center home button for a couple seconds how to see and shut down all apps still running on my phone when i thought all were closed. WWF was there and now i make sure to add that step to insure no interloping ads.
