I have the circle battery widget and it has been stuck on 99% for like half an hour.... I checked with Elixer and see that it is still charging but this is weird.. Can someone tell me the mV the battery should be at when @ 100%?

Edit: Ok so it just hit 100 at 4340mV is that what everyone else is seeing... and it appears that it's stil charging because now it's at 4350? I'm confused unless we have a stock kernal with SBC

EVO3D battery fully charged? (not 90%)

Guys,

Can anyone confirm whether or not our new 3D is being charges a full 100% unlike th original EVO which would show a 100% that would drop to 90% as soon as you took it off the charger? Thanks as this was most bizarre and annoying thing about or beloved 4gs.

100% battery, I'm not getting there

I've tried bump charging my phone, but can't seem to get it to 100%, it will only charge to 99, even after leaving it charging over night with the phone off. It will also drop down to about 90% with in 10- 20 minutes. Is anyone else having this issue? Any possible solutions? The fast drop down to 90% is driving me a little bonkers. This is my first android, been on blackberry for the past 5 years.

I have a feeling this is a kernel issue... Like the Evo 4g The second it hits 100% it starts discharging. This is a safety feature for the battery so I do understand it but it can be frustrating being stuck at 99%

I will say thought that after a hard reset and then calibrating my battery I still dont hit 100%(on my widget at least) but I do stay at 99% for a pretty long time so thats fine with me...

mine did the same thing yesterday, but after about 45 minutes it came up as full (100%) charged

Full battery charge

When I plug my phone in at night in the morning the light is green but the phone says the battery is only at 96% charge. If I unplug it and plug it back in it charges to 99% and stops. Is there something wrong with my battery?

Mine is doing something very similar...

Re: Full battery charge

The way your phone is set up, it charges to full (100%) and is then allowed to discharge down to 95-96% and will then charge back up to 100%. Apparently HTC feels this is a better way to ensure a more full charge than a trickle charge.

You must be unplugging it in the morning during the discharge cycle. BTW, the phone charges slower when it reaches full capacity, so that last 1% can take longer than you would expect.

Download a battery monitor widget if you want further verification.

Re: Full battery charge

My battery also only lasts like 8 hours with the battery monitor showing my screen being on for 2.5 hours of mostly web browsing and a bit of gaming. How the hell can people be going a full day on a single charge??

Re: Full battery charge

How much are you browsing on 3G or 4G?

Battery life is also dependent on signal strength. If you are in a low signal strength area, your phone will increase the output of its antenna to stay connected.

You will also notice that your display is eating up a significant amount of your battery life. If you lower the brightness you can get a longer battery life as well.

Using the Battery Snap app, the graphs show this exact behavior. The "release charge then recharge" cycle seems to be about an hour.

Depends on usage. I never use 4G, Bluetooth and GPS rarely. I turn off that big beautiful screen as soon as my task is done, i don't wait for it to auto shutoff. And I keep my brightness under 40%; that's bright enough for me.

I find the biggest drain I get all day is at my desk at work because my 3G signal is awful in that exact spot. If I download any substantial amount of data while sitting there, my battery drops much faster. But I still get a good 8-10 hours for the day,14-18 hours if I don't sit at my desk all day. I check FB, news, websites mail and a quick game regularly through out the day. My 3VO battery life is on par with my EVO 4G with CM7 and Set CPU.

I use the Green Power app to shut off 3G while the screen is off, that has been helping a lot too.

I checked out the Green Power app you mentioned, but it indicates that only WiFi is supported for Gingerbread CDMA phones like our Evo 3Ds, so I'm not sure how you're using it to turn off 3G.

I purchased a separate external charger for Evo3D and upon the completion of the charge cycle and powering up in the Evo3D Im showing battery percentage at 100% so it appears that the Evo3D does in fact have that safety to overcharge kicking in while still in the phone.

I noticed that it didn't work with my EVO 4G with CM7, but I went ahead and tried it anyway on the 3VO. I don't know how it's working but it when I wake my phone after the set amount of time, the 3G icon is gone then comes back on after unlocking. Miracle? Perhaps.

I won't mind at all if it works, just wondered since it isn't supposed to. Have you confirmed a difference/improvement in battery life to confirm that it is in fact turning off 3G when the screen is off?
