Weird behaviour re: selecting pics in gallery

I'm absolutely loving my new One after a few years with Sammy's.

I've literally 'just' started to look at the Gallery app and was amazed at the trickery it automatically does when entering it.

I don't know if it's buggy, or I'm not doing something right (probably the latter I'd guess ) ....but when I went into Events and found a folder of some pics I'd copied over from my last phone, it automatically put them all into one Zoe. The trouble was that some were taken in portrait aspect, so when the clip came to those, the pic would be 'sideways' in the video. Ok, I'll deselect all the portrait pics I thought, so I tapped the options dots and chose 'Select Content', then deselected the ones I didn't want in the zoe, then >Next...it came up with 'processing' as if it was doing my selected pics...but when I hit Play...it was still the same Zoe as before, with the unwanted portrait shots still in it!!

I repeated the procedure (the ones I'd previously chosen NOT to be in the clip, were already still unselected from my last attempt to remove them...) but again, it insists on including them every time!!

What am I doing wrong here guys...?

I don't think it's you. I think I read that the highlight feature has a bug that should be fixed in a software update.

This seems to be the case. You can hit the "random" button in the highlight and that might remove the offending picture as long as the event has others to fill in. The random button is the crossing arrows Btw.

You can long press the particular event in the event list and choose "split to" to move the sideways pics out of the event and into a separate one.

As it's such an awesome feature, I can work around the bug for now using your tips....

But when they do bring out the fix though....it'll be the 'defacto' that all the others try to emulate....(note Mr. A$$ple....I never said the 'C' word.... )
