ok so whenever I turn on my phone, once it gets to the lockscreen it'll either bootloop a couple times or freeze up. takes about twenty minutes of leaving it alone to get it to operate properly.... any ideas?

As above need more info, stock or rooted?, if rooted what rom / kernel are you running?. Also have you done anything you wouldn't usually to it really?

Hopefully then the community can help :)

nope completely stock. and no. Last thing I did was download Norton mobile security

How long has this been happening?
Did you happen to install any applications around the time this started to occur?
I'd go the route of shutdown/battery pull before I went down the factory reset path, but it may come to that.
If you're not sure of what apps you've loaded recently, just look in the 'All' tab of the play store (once in 'My Apps') - seems like they're shown in reverse order there.
