Weird LG G2 photo issue

Hi,

I've found a very strange problem with my G2, in certain conditions the photos are taken like the one I've attached. The conditions are:
Photo size 8M or 1M;
Objects at a distance;
Fast zoom in and take photo quickly;
Fast zoom out to 1X and take photo quickly;
Doesn't happen every time but I can reproduce it most times I try.

With photo size 13M and 10M doesn't happen.
My phone is the 32GB version with android 5.02. I've done a factory reset but issue remained.

Any ideas??

Welcome, and please excuse the tardy reply.
As a diagnostic, try using another camera app from the Play Store.

I don't have an answer, but I've had the same problem for about a year. I also have the 32GB and Android 5.0.2, and the phone has been factory reset several times.

I couldn't figure out why it happened only occasionally, but after reading your post I was able to reproduce the problem with a zoom in or out and taking the photo quickly, and on the 8M but not 13M. I didn't bother checking the 1M/10M settings.

I haven't noticed that distance of the subject makes any difference. At least thanks to your post I know to leave the camera setting to 13M or 10M.

Edited to add: My LG overheats a lot, sometimes even when it's not being used - I had wondered if that had anything to do with the problem, but the phone was not overheating when I was recreating the problem.
