Weird pictures show up in my gallery and I get a weird notification, am I being hacked?

pictures that look like screenshsots of coding and syncing buttons and such showed up on my phone, all at the exact same time on the same day. also, a notification that look like an a with a small circle made up of dashed lines. I have had a lot of android phones and never had this happen. Am I getting hacked? If so, what can I do about it?
