Weird Screen Issue

I was wondering of anyone else has experienced an issue with the N6 where you can display the lock screen, however when you go to unlock your phone, the screen just goes black? If you hit the power button, you just end up back at the lock screen, it is almost like the GEL launcher is just crashing, and locking the phone again. I have tried recovery mode, nothing. I even Factory reset the phone, and it works intermittently. It basically renders the phone useless, until it decides to let me actually unlock the damn thing. I guess it is back to the N5 until, the new Nexus comes out, or I can get my N6 working long enough to call Google, and maybe get a replacement phone.

Just to clarify--you're successfully entering your unlock PIN/password before it goes black, right? That is, the lockscreen isn't timing out before you get a chance to enter it, correct?

Yea. I get to my unlock screen, enter my pattern, I see the home screen for 1/3 of a second, and it locks back up and the screen goes black again. It's weird now, my phone is fine. It was doing this all day yesterday. I factory reset it, and that still didn't fix it yesterday. Idk what I did but it works, for now. Good thing I kept my N5 for back up.

You don't have anything magnetic nearby, do you? Something with a magnet could be triggering the smartcover sensor, which would put the screen to sleep.

nahh nothing magnetic. I ended up chatting with play store support, and they are sending me a refurb because my N6 is still under warranty. I didn't think it was considering I received the phone in Nov. Good thing I did not sell my N5, it is a decent backup. However I can't wait to get my N6 back, the larger screen, snappier overall ui, etc. Should have it back by next wed or tuesday.
