Weird volume behaviour

Round about once a month or just over a month I'll turn the volume up on a video I'm watching & the volume will shoot to full volume so I turn it down & it shoots down so low I can't hear it. Any idea what's causing this? A reboot sorts out the problem but it comes back like a month later. Any help would be appreciated.

Still get this problem on 7.0 too. Happened today.
