So today I got the 128GB Quite Black Pixel. I did have the 32GB Quite Black Pixel XL. I knew I needed more storage and opted to get what was available. With VR not being important I am super pleased! It feels so AMAZING to have a phone that is a little easier to use one handed and carry in my pocket. I honestly cannot tell a difference in screen quality. Overall I am super excited to have the regular Pixel! I feel 5" is officially my sweet spot!

I as well had the pixel XL after using a galaxy s7 edge. The pixel XL was in my opinion much harder to manage than the s7 edge and it was very clunky. I ended up returning the pixel XL after using it only 4 days.

Got the regular pixel delivered two days ago and I can't believe how amazing the 5" display is. Like you, I don't see a difference at all to the naked eye in the 1080p screen. It's absolutely stunning, very impressed. Not to mention the battery life is incredible. I am beyond please, the standby time is better than the iPhone 6s plus I had. This phone may have some things we all don't love about it, but the areas I just talked about outweigh the dislikes.

I also went with the regular pixel. I'm just a bit tired of big phones. I miss the days of just using one hand. Besides 5.0 is not like 4.0 or even 4.3 of 5 years ago. Remember when a 4.3 inch phone was considered too big for a lot of users.

I returned my XL last week and I am waiting for the Really Blue 5" to come back in stock...

The really blue is awesome. I'm glad I was able to snag one in this color shortly after release with no waiting. Walked into Verizon and 15 minutes later walked out with one. Love the color

Nice! Whatever works for you.

My wife says the same to me, but I don't believe her.
It's not the size of your pixel...

Anyways I also love the 5" size, although my wife likes them much bigger (says her note is too small). For me I get much more annoyed when I can't do something one handed while holding a baby or toddler. I never wish I had a bigger phone to be honest.

Love the 5" Pixel. Great size, although I wouldn't have minded smaller bezels to make it even smaller but oh well. I am just thrilled Google listened and made the smaller phone just as good as its big brother.

If any of you little guys want 2 bear motion thin fit cases (black and grey) hit me up via PM with your info, I ordered the wrong size and it costs as much to return one as the case itself.

That was a HUGE plus by Google. No matter the 5" Pixel or 5.5" Pixel XL, you get the same phone just a different size. No missing out on specs like Apple does with the iPhone and iPhone Plus variants.

I love the fact that there are those that went from a Pixel XL to a regular Pixel and are pleased with their decision as it helps to convince me to stick with my regular Pixel.

My 5" Pixel is really brilliant (though 5.2" would've been my sweet spot), however, like most geeks, I often get an itch for a larger phone.

Time and time again I've gone large then regretted it, moving from a Note 4 back to a Moto X, or a Nexus 6 to a S6, or the 6P to a 5X, and every time I'm so relieved to be back to a smaller device.

This time I'm not going to an XL! I only ever do it for better battery life but it just isn't worth the inconvenience of carrying a larger phone all the time.

In the same boat. Every store I have been to has been out of stock of XL, so I haven't been able to try it out except with the store demos with security devices attached. So I have been basically forced into the regular pixel and have considered ordering XL, but the echos of satisfaction going small has helped me get over it. Smallest phone I have owned since Galaxy Nexus.

5.2" with a little less chin would have been nice.

Just got a regular pixel yesterday after getting rid of my iPhone 7 plus. Missing the larger screen some but the 7 plus was so cumbersome. Hoping to get used to this size !

Guess all these companies love to @#$& with us in terms of size. Rumor has it one of the new sizes for the S8 is gonna be 5.1". No pleasing everyone but I think 5.2" is the largest I'd like to see and personally use on any phone

The S7 is 5.1.

I can't agree more and I think Google should be praised for accomplishing this. I always went for bigger is better with smartphones BC let's be honest, it is. Had a gs7 edge, returned it for the regular gs7....battery sucked so bad I went back to the gs7 edge. Tried an iPhone 7, screen was so tiny and battery was terrible. Had the iPhone 6s, battery was awesome but the phone was so awkward and uncomfortable to hold. I think 4.7 and 5.5 is such a drastic diff in screen size. 5.0 or 5.5 is a much better choice with that pixel. I think a 5.1 or 5.2 would have been nice to see with the pixel, but I actually love the 5.0 form factor and not missing any of the 5.5 screen real estate I've been used to.

No other flagships have been able to keep similar battery life , same internal specs, and same camera tech in two differently sized devices. The only difference is the 1080p super AMOLED display vs quad HD super AMOLED, which by my naked eye I can't even tell I'm using a 1080p display....that is how good this display is on the regular pixel!!!

Although I've enjoyed my current 5.5" screen and had always thought there was no way I could go smaller again I went with the Pixel as well (on its way to me).

#1 for YEARS I have unleashed my snark into comment threads wishing some manufacturer would offer a smaller version of their flagship phone with NO compromises. Sony were the only people doing it and their compact phones never came to the US. Google did it! In my mind there's no downside to the Pixel just a downsize #seewhatididthere

#2 as much as I dislike what Apple does via policies and their phone software I've always loved the way my wife's iPhone feels. She had a 5s and now a 6SE and every time I picked it up I'd be like "wow this feels really solid and compact". I am psyched to be able to use my phone one-handed without doing hand gymnastics.
