I was about ready to sell my Fascinate on Ebay and decided to give the superclean 2.9 a shot and what a difference it has made. Everything is faster now and all the bloatware is gone. It was a piece of cake to do and took me less than 10 minutes. No issues so far except it seems to take a little longer to get a 3G signal when I first boot. It stays as 1X for 2-3 minutes it seems. Once it gets the 3G signal though it keeps it and does not go back to 1X.

Quick question - how do you patch from 2.9 to 2.9.1 or 2.9.2? Are there instructions on how to do this like there is for installing froyo? Thanks for helping out.

Simply download to your card and then install using CWM. (Make sure you double check voodoo or non-voodoo).

You can just flash 2.9.2 via odin. You don't need to put the zip on the root of your SD card either, it can be anywhere.

2.9.2 is only available thru cwm right now. im sure dxc will have an odin package very soon though.

Thanks guys. I got 2.9.1 installed using 'cwm froyo'. Eventually I might try voodoo with 'cwm all' but one step at a time. Even without voodoo, this thing flies compared to stock 2.1 and all the Verizon bloatware. It seems like a new phone already.

I agree, BigCTM. I was ready to return my phone a few weeks ago because it was just super laggy and slow. Rooting/flashing the rom seemed a little tricky, but this tech stuff comes natural to me as long as I have easy instructions, which they provide here, and it's awesome. My phone is super fast now, and fully custom, which I love. :D

You want to be using CWM all regardless of what rom you're running. All of the other ones are too broken and should be avoided.
