As of the last few days many of my emails are now showing blank in the stock app. Ive seen two variations: 1. The email is there but as I scroll down it disappears and I have a blank screen or 2. I open it and its just a blank screen. This doesn't happen to them all (yet). I can view them from my laptop so I know they are there, Nope, no new update yet so its not that. What a buggy piece of crap this phone has turned out to be.
Word to the wise: Never buy a phone the day it comes out!:(

And please, dont tell me to root to solve my problem, Ive heard that already for the multitude of issues this crapbolt has.

I use K-9 Email free version from day 1 on my Bolt & get email from 2 sources without any issues at all :D Configuration of how it looks is great & very flexible :)

Cheers & Good Luck :)

Well you must have liked it at one time TBoltJ. Maybe you should change your name to CBoltJ. LOL

I noticed the same thing the last couple of days. I could read my messages for about 30 seconds before they disappear. I just figured they were set to self destruct after a few seconds.

Thanks, I downloaded K9. Does it sync automatically? I dont see any set up for sync timing? Also when I set it up it could not reach the server for my Yahoo account yet it seems to be there if I hit continue. Gotta love it!

In k9, if you go into account settings (If you have 2 accounts you have to long press one of those accounts to get to the account settings screen), go to fetching mail and there are settings there for frequency to poll for changes as well as which folders to poll for new messages.

Cheers :)

This is not a crap phone. Issues can happen with any phone or computer for that matter. I had issues with my email about a month ago. Never before. I did a factory reset and it resolved the glitch. So don't get in such an uproar and call this crap. Try a factory reset.

Jude, I do give you credit for defending this phone until the bitter end! (especially as a non-root user).

The Thunderbolt is great piece of hardware. And to be honest, I can't tell you how much the simultaneous voice and data feature has worked in my benefit. Are there any other Verizon phones that do that? (I realize there may be, I know that almost all them do NOT).

Having said that, I contribute most of my love for the Thunderbolt on the crazy dev community out there...which most of us rooted users understand. To the OP, I'm Not trying to talk anyone into anything, and I do realize the risks and responsibilities involved, but it's hard to say "and don't tell me to root to fix it!"...when in fact, that could solve most of your problems. Honestly, to me, it's like saying "tell me how I can drive my car across the country without it stopping...AND DON'T TELL ME TO PUT MORE GAS INTO IT!". Sometimes the reason you get the answer you do is because it's the only real answer out there if you're really looking for a solution to your problem.

For the record, I actually don't think this is a problem that root could necessarily fix, but if you haven't already fixed it, my first step would be to clear all data from the email app and run the setup over again.

Tbolt was released last March (iirc) and is still consumer reports #2 phone on Verizon. (Behind the bionic of course) ;)

Given that this phone has been out for 9 months and had multiple updates (some good, some bad), if you're still having issues at this point you probably have a bad device. You have the same phone that someone walking into VZW today would get.

I really didn't plan to root when I bought the phone but, as I've said before I really appreciate the dev community and all they've done to improve the phone. My phone now works nearly perfectly and, other than a brief Mini BAMF try, I haven't updated my ROM in a while.

I suggest contacting Upstreammiami and discussing rooting with him - he makes it easy from the feedback he's getting. Many others will offer help with ROMs/kernels.

If the choice is to root and be happy with the Tbolt or stay stock and be unhappy, I will root every time. Why be frustrated over something that should make your life easier?

I have been using k9 and also have same isdue with email. But it only effects my yahoo email, other accts r fine

Have you tried getting a replacement phone? The majority of folks have no issues with their phones. I am completely stock and have no major issues, as are most Tbolt users. I bought mine a couple weeks after launch and couldn't be happier.

Honestly, to me, it's like saying "tell me how I can drive my car across the country without it stopping...AND DON'T TELL ME TO PUT MORE GAS INTO IT!".

That is a poor analogy. Putting in gas is more like plugging in the charger, every user should know how to do both of these normal thinks. But rooting is more like changing out the organic brake pads for metallic brake pads. It really isn't that complicated and the tools needed aren't that unique, but some people don't want to go there. And that is fine.

I'm rooted, but stock, just so I can run Titanium backup.

And I don't believe in this case there is a direct relationship between rooting, and having the email app go bonkers.

I love my Bolt and have only had very minor issues with it. This is a great phone.

"I went back to Sense when I realized how much work I was putting into making AOSP look like Sense."

Au contraire mon ami, this is far from a piece of crap. It is the best hand held computer I've owned that had it's own phone app. Yes, I've had my issues, but they seem to get resolved, either by me becoming more educated about the phone from some great people on this board, or htc and/or verizon sending the updates with fixes. I'm still stock and not rooted. Just updated to the 2.11.605.9 release. Just my 2 cents worth on the subject.

Mine started doing this EXACT same thing over the past couple of days. Very annoying.

I just restarted my phone and it seems to be working for now, think it'd been a couple or three days since I'd turned it off or restarted.

Why not root? Thats what the Thunderbolt was designed for...I once hated my Tbolt, then I rooted and I love my Tbolt! Stop complaining about your phone take the ten minutes to root it, download a ROM and Kernel if need be and be happy!!!
