What apps not to disable?

So there have been a few lists of apps that people disable, but how about compiling a list of "Do not disable" apps? Apps that can definitely affect the phone's performance negatively. I'm coming from an iPhone, so the list of built-in apps is definitely overwhelming and find myself questioning whether or not disabling a certain app will affect my phone.

Generally if you try to disable any app that could negatively effect something it'll pop up some sort of warning and most, if not all, of the critical apps won't allow you to disable them.

Be heavy handed. Samsung and ATT are NUTS with all the junk on here. I have 38 apps disabled. It is nice there is a heading just for that, but with so much junk, it was needed!
