Re: what apps use great amount of batt er y power on Galaxy 5?
The screen is one of the largest battery consumers, so any app using the screen will use a lot of battery. Apps themselves don't use much battery, unless the app gets stuck (like Media Scanner scanning a bad SD card) or "goes rogue" (misbehaves). The app uses CPU power, and if it doesn't run the CPU faster (most apps with a human interface don't), it's not going to increase the battery usage. So downloading a song with Zedge, Dolphin, Firefox or the stock browser will all take about the same amount of power. Your phone's voice/text radio, if it's getting a very weak signal, will use a lot of power. An app using the GPS (actually using it, not just if GPS is enabled) will use a bit of power.
