I mean sure, it gives a bigger viewing screen. What is the real practical use of the two screens.

I got my ECHO 2 days ago. So, far, I am loving it. No regrets. But, I am just wondering what / how are you all Echo users making the most of this wonderful piece of work...

thank you!

I do love the extra area the double screen gives. Honestly I love the keyboard on the whole screen and when it splits between the two.

As for double screen stuff, I like being able to have two web pages open at the same time. I also like being able to reply to text while web page still open. Hopefully more simultask apps will come out.

Motorola Xoom 3g: Unlocked, Rooted, and on Tiamat 2.1.0 Tachi.

Kyocera Echo: Rooted and waiting for Gingerbread.

Having that full keyboard is awesome for messaging and email.

I don't really use 2 apps at once much honestly, but I love having the huge amount of space for the web or gaming.

By far my favorite app for 2 screens is Coolreader, having both screens makes it feel really close to reading a real book.

Yes, the keyboard is a smart addon. But, I sometimes feel it is a burden on the whole design to see another screen to be used just as a keyboard (you know battery draining , additional maintenance et all). Again, my thoughts.

I am yet to use the Echo in multi-task mode... I will be enabling its support today, hopefully, i will be more productive :).

Appreciate your feedback. Any other inputs will help convince me more that this phone is great :)

I like the larger screen size for Netflix and other video watching (you get over the black bar), but for me the full screen keyboard is one of the best things about the phone. I had a hard time going from a Blackberry to my Hero due to a combination of a software keyboard and fat fingers - the large full screen keyboard is a dream for someone like me.

The ability to add Youtube clips to a queue while watching one on the top screen is great when you've just got back from an event or concert and want to watch several videos of it in a row too.

Optimized/Simultask applications can make you much more productive. I only wish the Document Viewer was integrated with that system. Especially email works very fast and smooth, I get newsletters and article summaries that would swamp the normal interface. Vueque is nice but sometimes Youtube is hiding crap from mobile devices. Opera Mobile (desktop UA) can access those videos just fine though.

Big screen is great for browsing and makes most Android games easier to play. A few only work in single screen mode, and some need to be downloaded elsewhere because the app manager is insane RE: Filesize. You can even play generic 3D MMO's like "Pocket Legends".

Essentially it types like a slider and handles media more like a tablet. The shape and balance make it very easy to hold when opened. And you can't forget the good speaker, it's actually possible to set this on the table and watch a video.

Nice point about the speaker. Not noticed the same till you made a mention. Will surely give it a try. Usually the speakers tend to get mushy when put on a table or something.

thanks.
