SMS App that utilizes Note 5 Features

Hey Guys and Gals,

Brand new to an Android after a tour with a couple i Phones (4s and 5s). That being said I am rather enjoying my Note 5 currently and all the little tricks and gizmos that it has and the customization. One complaint I had was how SLOW the message+ and Samsung Messages apps were that came on the phone. I took to the internet to find replacements and I have to say Android has come a LONG way since I last had the original Motorola android. That being said I have fallen in love with Textra like many and how fast and streamline the interface is while still being fairly adjustable for my needs. My complaint here though and also my question is the lack of ability to draw with the S-pen on photos, documents and such before sending them. The message+ and messages app had this capability. Is this something that Textra just hasn't implemented yet? OR Is there another app out there similar that someone out there would recommend I try that does allow for this feature. Thanks in advance! Silly reason not to use an amazing app like textra I know but it's an awesome feature that I use pretty often for pictures and sending office documents that need attention.

Welcome to the forums!

Can you draw on what you want and then attach it to the text app and send?

Now if you are talking about something someone sent you, you should be able to open it and use the screen write and then send it. Have you actually tried that by choosing screen write?

Sorry I had to make an account to be able to respond. I actually haven't messed with the screen write capability just yet but that one basically takes a screenshot and then loads it for editing. That works except when I am already viewing the camera.

The Samsung messages and Verizon's Message+ apps, when you take a picture through the text app. "add picture, take photo or video, and then snap it" these two programs show the picture, allow for cropping, editing, filters, red eye etc. Also has an option for drawing on the photo. Which with the s pen is amazing for highlighting areas, circling items, or just in general drawing doodles on pictures and peoples faces to annoy the girlfriend lol. But I have not been able to replicate this in the textra app. In Message+ and samsung messages I can do all of these edits on the picture, it saves it to gallery and then it loads it straight into the message that I intended it for. With textra I have to take the picture then access it through gallery and make my edits...seems to have fewer effect options. then go to textra, to the conversation that I want and then "insert photo, photo from gallery and then select it, then send" . Wasn't sure if there was an app "fast" like textra that streamlines the process like the before mentioned apps that do. Or if maybe Textra is planning a patch/update that will incorporate the changes.

Jeez...I just typed a long reply to you and I'm not certain that it posted it

Scratch that, it posted it up after I sent this one
