What are they updating?

I have two Android devices, a Nexus 7 tablet and a Moto G phone. Almost every time I turn one or the other of them on I gat a notification that one or more of my apps has an update available--and I don't have a ton of apps.

Sometimes it'll be for an app that just updated a few days earlier. Google seems to be updating something every other day. What are they all updating? It doesn't exactly inspire confidence in a product knowing it has to be adjusted or patched almost every time you use it. So, what's up with all the updates?

In general having updates for your apps is a good thing. It means that your apps are being improved. Sometimes after an update (a bad one) they get complaints from users that found a bug, so they quickly push a new update to fix that. That's normal.

If you don't want to be notified all the time just change your auto update settings in the Play Store. Just remember to go back there and check manually for new updates.
