To me, the best moment was the match we had just now.

2 friends and I randomly changed our Steam names to phones (I was the LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, the other was the iPhone 6 Plus and the last one was the Nokia 1100 and the HTC Desire 816). We own some of these phones, which are the LG G4, iPhone 6 (non-plus) and Desire 816.

Results? Look below. Never before have we laughed so much in a video game, or even a game called Team Fortress 2. We'll be doing it again soon with more friends for more hilarity.

That's awesome!

Way back in the day, I used to play Unreal Tournament on this guy's server who always had custom maps, and skins running. It was fun to check out user created stuff, and often the mappers would drop into the server since they knew that he put their maps in rotation. It was cool to run around the maps with the guys who had made them. We'd spend more time taking the tour of the map and chatting than shooting each other. It was a fun era.

Playing Quake 2 in high school on our school-wide LAN with people having custom skins. We weren't allowed to play it, so people were usually sneaking on at the library or in classes that had computers. Funny seeing a banana run around shooting at people.

On my own - I think playing the first Assassin's Creed and enjoying how vast the environment is. Or playing Prince of Persia and enjoying the fact that you can pretty much go backwards to any level you've beaten by just reversing the path you took. And the fact that there were no load times in any of those games (just the initial load, but never any loading between missions/levels/stages).

For me it's usually one of 2 things:
  1. A great story actually drawing me in and then making me feel genuine emotion. The Last of Us is one of my favourite games for that, one of the later levels in that inspired genuine heartfelt rage and worry for me due to in-game events.
  2. Player affected changes resulting in the cool or absurd. Could be something as random as changing names of characters (old school JRPGs for example) or as complex as someone making something amazing in Minecraft. I'm a game dev so I'm usually proud of the games I make, but one of the things I enjoy the most is seeing what people who weren't involved in dev can make that the devs never every considered.

I think it was at the end of Myst 1, when you meet Atrus. I was really young and I spend hours to understand all the puzzle, etc... and wow, I saw the credits!

Actually , it was a really strange feeling because as I said, I was young and it was the first time I finished a game and I was like... "Wait... what ?! A video game can be "finished" " ? It was like a little brain f*** in my head :D.

My most memorable moments have always been during MMORPG. A couple of years ago, I played this game called Dragonica (Dragon Saga in EU, I think), which is very PVP-focussed. I remember one 3-on-3 match between us (3 level 60 warriors) and the opponent (3 level 60 ninjas). The 3 ninjas put us on a pretty much dead-airlock with almost no chance of recover. Both of my teammate died, but I somehow survived with less than 30% of HP left. For some reasons, I was able to defeat all three of them before time ran out.

Not exactly a moment but about 10 years ago when i used to play Ultima Online! That game was soo free it was amazing, you could do whatever you wanted. Me and my friends would often move as a group PKing other players, or doing something totally random like fishing out in the deep sea!

Well played!

I can recall a moment from 15 years ago when I was pretty good at Counter Strike. I was playing on Dust and circled around without resistance with the machine gun (Para). CT where all camping inside and when I opened fire I miraculously head shot all 6 without releasing my mouse button. Wish I recorded my games back then ;).

Pissing off unskilled server mods on Battle Field 4. Which is still a broken game. Rented servers killed it for me. You have to play to the cry baby server owners style of gameplay or get banned. *sigh*

First time I played Uncharted, which was the first PS3 game I'd ever played. I was wandering about the jungle not even doing the mission because I was so amazed by how fantastic everything looked!
