So i recieved my pixel2 xl back in November and Immediately was worried about the blue shift. Since that day I have not been able to see it at any angle.
I also broke my screen and had it replaced worried this time I would see it. Still nothing?

If you don’t know and have no problem with your device then I strongly advise you to not try and find out what it is.

I ordered three separate XL 2's and all had it. Shows up as soon as its tilted slightly. Unfortunately was a deal breaker for me.

The blue shift for most people is very minor (as it is for me). I have read that the quality of screens on the 2 XL can vary, so you might have one that is better quality.

Mine has mild-average blue shift and it doesn't bother me. Have personally used three P2XL and all exhibited the same minor blue shift. It can be FAR worse. I've used iPhone X (currently own), Pixel 2, S8. Blue shift is the least intrusive issue in my opinion. You could suffer from pink edges, pink hue, red hue, pink shift, bottom half of screen pink shift and top half blue. Also returned an iPhone X that was very yellow when looking head on and perfect white at slight angle...then shifted pink into blue.

Seriously, I've gone through enough OLED phones and actually feel relief when my screen "only" has some blue shift. Just my opinion.

I have the blue tilt but if I'm honest, it's not an issue at all. I look square at my phone most of the time and if it's not quite square, it's close.

Same with me and my panda 2 XL I don't see any shift what's so ever. Unless it's very very minimal that I can't notice it.

I've had three separate Pixel 2 XLs, with a 4th coming tomorrow, and all three of them had a blue shift. My iPhone X has a blue shift too.

So apparently the blue is from a screen for polarized sun glasses have yet to here any one comment on the screen while wearing sunglasses

I haven't noticed any issue seeing the screen while wearing Ray-Ban sunglasses with polarized lenses.

The blue tint is really noticeable. the camera on the pixel 2 is amazing so I kept it but I use the OnePlus 5t as daily driver and only use the pixel when I travel

I wish it would turn pure black out when turned to the side, for privacy. I was always laugh when people brag about great viewing angles on a phone. Those are the phones allowing me to read your screen in the elevator, check out all your photos sitting behind you in the airplane, get to see which website you are checking out while sitting at the next table, etc.

At an extreme angle there is a slight blue tint. A) it is slight and doesn't bother me. B) I never use my phone at that anyway.

The only time I ever notice it is if I read about it in a forum, LOL.

It depends on batch.

Some are less noticeable than others. It’s also worth noting that it’s less noticeable outdoors.

of all the iPhone X's I've encountered, they all have blue shift but nobody mentions it. why?

my pixel 2 xl has a blue shift but it's not a deal breaker and nobody that sees my phone mentions it either. they all love my phone and the way it takes pictures.

I agree - the blue shift is minor and not very noticeable on many devices. My friend's Pixel 2 XL has an excellent and it takes great pictures - I truly haven't been able to see the blue shift yet. Or at all.

Exactly why I prefer LCD over Oled any day. No blue, pink, yellow, or any other color shift at all. No retention or burn in either. So why do so many want Oled and think it is better when it clearly is NOT? The best rated screen on any phone right now is on the Sony Xperia XZ Premium and it is LCD. I hear they may be moving to Oled for their newest phone to come at MWC...hope not.
