what can cause the 4 bottom row keys to be unresponsive

i was texting and while i tried to press back it didnt work, whatever

opened up a browser, hit back/homekey/search nothing worked

i saw the light turn on and off when i hit them though, a reboot fixed it but meh what gives?

Some screen savers can make those capacitive buttons less sensitive. But if rebooting fixed the problem that is probably not your issue.

it hasnt happened again since, but it came out of no where, i got a text n read it and thats when i noticed it
