Android Central Question

I've had my Samsung S6 Edge for about over 2 years and only these past few months I've noticed my phone battery draining a lot quicker. It's beginning to worry me as I'm not unsure if I can get a new one if my phone keeps draining like how it is. I am aware of how I've been treating it badly, like using it while it's overheating but I've been changing those habits; I don't understand why it's still going down so quickly. I even tried using clean master to hibernate apps, and I've gotten to the point that I always have airplane mode on. Now I'm just unsure of what to do and what I've done wrong. I've charged my phone all night and when I took it off charge, clean master told me that my battery percentage hadn't increased. I would love to get the battery replaced but I also don't have the money to do that.

Welcome to Android Central! Chances are that your battery is simply failing. Your options would be to bring it to a repair shop and pay them to replace the battery, buy a battery on your own and try to change it yourself (which I wouldn't recommend if you're not experienced with taking a phone apart), and buying a new phone.

On the off chance that it isn't a failing battery, it'd help to see some battery stats. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

Clean Master is a Cheetah app. The first rule in Android phones is uninstall any app that's been in the same town as Cheetah. They're known as data thieves (they steal your contacts, email addresses - even bank passwords if you have a banking app in you phone - and from what I read recently, Samsung now includes their apps on all Samsung phones.) Clean Master, even if it didn't steal anything, wastes battery and slows the phone down. (It doen't "hibernate" apps, it "removed them from RAM" - which is exactly the opposite of what you want. This is Android, not Windows, you don't want clean RAM, unused RAM is wasted RAM.

The fact that you used to over heat the battery tells me that the battery is shot, and replacing it is the only option to being tethered to a wall outlet. (See if Samsung still replaces batteries for $60.)

Don't Samsung phones use 360 Security to "power" the Device Maintenance app now? They're not much better than Cheetah, from what I can tell.
