Does anyone know if there is a list of what devices will be getting this update? It sounds awesome I just want to make sure my phone is going to get it.

I have the mytouch 4g

Thanks!

i would think that youll get it for sure. i think any phone that got (or is getting, in the case of the galaxy s phones) froyo, with the possible exception of the OG droid, should get 2.3 as well. pure speculation on my part though, so take that for what it is worth

thanks i'm just new to the whole android thing, i moved over from palm and can't get enough and the new update looks awesome

im sure all recently released phones with a 1ghz processor will be eligilble for 2.3. As for if they're all getting it, thats up to the carriers to decide.

All phones that the carriers/manufactures want updated will get updated. Google has not set any official hardware requirements to my knowledge, although they might with honeycomb.

I anticipate that most of the phones released within the last 8-10 months will be receiving a 2.3 update at SOME point in the future. The only phones on my mind that are questionable are the Original Droid. I would expect the MT4G, Galaxy, Droid Pro, X, 2 and most of the HTC devices (Incredible hopefully as well) will be receiving a Gingerbread update down the road.

I'm pretty confident that the Original Droid will get Gingerbread in the form of CyanogenMod 7.0

Optimus S at 600mhz processor, highly doubt it.

Why quote the processor speed? If your thinking about the "1ghz requirement" that some russian blogger mentioned, and google denied, I think we can say it's truly fake. Especially since nothing about that leaked out today.

It's still entirely possible the Droid will receive Gingerbread, and if it does, I see absolutely no reason the Optimus wouldn't.

Remember this is all speculation. Although I do agree with chris.

Now Samsung is saying they may not update the Galaxy S phones to Gingerbread, unless they have fully tested the new announced Android OS, although the Galaxy S phones hasn't been update to Froyo yet LOL

I have no idea on what ginger bread update will do to our phones, but I'm pretty excited to get it.. I have a HTC Evo.
