What did my OP3 do today?

This may be more of an Android question, not sure what to make of it. Twice within an hour today my OP3 seemed to partial or soft reboot itself. I noticed the podcast I was listening to stopped and instead of Waze I saw the spinning boot icon on the screen. I say soft boot because I never got the 'android is being updated' message nor the 'enter pin to boot Android' message. After the spinning icon I was back at the lock screen and had to enter my pin and restart my apps. I was driving both times with as I mentioned Waze and Pocketcast running. This is something I do every day and I've never run into this. I'm new to Android, about a month in with my OP3 so maybe this is common, I don't know. After the second time I did a full reboot and it didn't happen again the rest of my 1.5 hours trip. Temp wasn't an issue either, the phone is on a vent mount and with the AC going gsam reports battery temp of around 20 deg C. No new apps installed lately, some common ones did update in the past day though.

So does this happen often with Android or anyone else's OP3 or should I be concerned?

This is a oneplus 3 issue. It's very well know and all over the forums. Pretty much relating to using GPS for a while, mostly while charging, but also sometimes unplugged. It's been an issue since very early on. Definitely needs fixing.

Actually just happened to me for the first time over the weekend as well. I was driving for about 2 hours and happened 4 times in a row, within a few minutes of each other, then didn't happen for the next hour of driving. Kinda sucked. Lol

OK, thanks for the explanation. I had seen some descriptions of "random reboots" but I wasn't seeing this and never really followed the threads that closely. Since it wasn't really a full reboot that issue occurred to me but I didn't think it was exactly what I was seeing. Apparently it was precisely what I was seeing. Good to know it's a known issue. Hopefully it will get fixed eventually. I'm still - even after a month or so - still quite happy with the OP3 and continue to be impressed with it in spite of the few warts I've found.

Yeah I thought it was a full reboot that happens as well, but it's just a soft reboot. Hopefully it does get fixed! I know there's plenty of people out there that have this happen constantly.
