I have a number of devices that are all networked and have network names.
I name my devices to be what they actually are so I can keep track of them on my network.
So my Pixel 3 XL device name is "Pixel 3 XL".

In the old syndicated show "The Highlander", Methos was the oldest immortal. He had had hundreds of lives through many generations. So, since my Palm Treo days, my phone has always been called Methos. Changing every generation, but still maintaining a core of its original incarnation, getting passed on, and on, and on and on and.....

In the show, when an immortal conquered another immortal, they experienced The Quickening. That's what happens every time I migrate an old phone to a new phone.
