What do you like about DL30 / Froyo?

Oh, it only seems to work when its on my car dock, which is when I need it most. I'm not sure about my desk dock though, haven't tried it.

Gotcha, thanks. I don't have a real car dock. I have a generic grippy thing. I might have to consider a real car dock now that they have the audio jack working right.

Which Car Dock app should I be looking at? The "Car Cradle" stock app is mostly crippled now that it can't find VZNav or Bing Maps. Do you mean Car Dock from the Market?

I'm running Adryn's 1.0 SuperClean, which has a modified Car Cradle app that uses all the good googly goodness instead of the stock stuff. Not sure about the OEM version, I never really messed with that one once Adryn posted the files to flash back in the FB sync and SNS stuff I needed.

Understood and thanks!

Yes I know it's tiny, (THATS WHAT SHE SAID!:D;)) but how about the fact you can now touch and hold the notification bar, then slide left/right for brightness?
In the stock browser you can now touch and hold (longer than normal I think) and it give you the ability to highlight text on the page!
Hmm, what else. New pull down menu rocks my face!
Hadn't noticed stuff on the camera, but i'm on it now! Sweet.
Fonts are cool! Wish there was a less cartoony one though.

jeez, didn't even know about the brightness adj. feature in the notification bar! that is completely awesome - now i can trash my Brightness widget! SUH-WEET!

holy crap, seriously - i am getting dizzy by how many tweaks are in this thing. i can almost see how this got delayed like it did, BUT that is NO EXCUSE for the total lack of communication. All VZW/SAmmy had to do is say - be patient, we are tweaking a LOT of stuff here and it has to work, like this and this, etc.. If they had only thrown us a bone or two peeps wouldn't have been so pissed waiting.

P.S. re: less cartoony fonts, I agree a bajillion %.

What are the differences? The normal Skype works over wifi? What about 3g? Wonder if I can install both...

The Verizon version of Skype is the spawn of an unholy partnership between the two companies. It looks a lot like true Skype, until you go to place or receive a Skype call, whereupon you will see that the call is routed as a CDMA voice call instead of a VOIP call over the data network.

The real Skype app works a lot like Skype on a computer. As far as I know it will work over 3G, but I have only tried it once since I installed it, and it was probably running in WiFi then.

But dl30 finally exorcised the demon spawn. Verizon Skype was a pet peeve of mine as well. :)

This may be a silly question but since I only use skype very infrequently, I don't know what the difference is between verizon's skype mobile and the regular skype app.

EDIT: I think I just got finger happy and posted this before reading the posts before mine. It appears my question has already been answered, so please disregard what I just posted.

One more important difference - the real Skype app can only make calls while connected to a WiFi hotspot. But, at least they are true VOIP calls. Verizon's version of Skype will let you call anytime, but the falls are routed over their CDMA voice network.
