First post around these parts, but after only having 3 smart phones, I'm still looking for one that fully meets my needs.

And so far, the Motorola Droid seems to be it. I know of the other Android devices, but not too much in how their features work. I hope out of the box, I have an option of using a full on screen touch keyboard (even though it already has a slide out full qwerty one). As well as browsing the web, when the keyboard is open, I can still navigate the screen with my finger and not be limited to the directional pad. As well as be able to just drag and drop play lists from my itunes, over to the phone via a USB cable or over bluetooth (as well as pictures and other documents for that matter).

I went from a Blackberry 8330, to currently a 9530 and an iPhone. I'm a huge fan of how customizable the Android OS already is and I sure hope this will be THE phone to get.

What features are you guys most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to that huge screen. The gaming capabilities of the TI Omap processor that it has. And all of the Apps. The Android Market in a year's time has added up to 20,000+ apps. And thats with devices only on the smallest national carrier T-mobile. So now imagine what's going to happen when devices are on the biggest carriers in verizon Sprint and probably soon At&T. Can't wait.

I Need a DROID without physical keyboard

I went to verizon today to check out the droid. Loved the phone hated the keyboard. This phone would be perfect without the slide out keyboard. It has everything I need in a phone and the virtual keyboard worked better than my storm or Iphone. Please lose the slide out keyboard and make the phone a little thinner. I would then buy 10 phones and give them to my friends.

Don't use the physical keyboard. I don't and haven't been tempted to, as my typing on the virtual keyboards improved. I wouldn't want to write the great American novel on a smartphone keyboard anyway. Some folks have tried and like the Better Keyboard replacement. I'm happy with the stock keyboards for now.

Personally I love the slide out keyboard. THe fact that I can view full web pages without a keyboard showing up and doing those things.

I also love I can play games and use the keyboard as my gamepad. For me I don't see the big deal with the physical keyboard. My thumbs can both stretch to both sides of the keyboard with ease.

Anyways this is the reason I am glad you can choose which one you want. As for the weight the Droid fills exactly the same as my S1 but feels even more sturdy. I love this phone personally I love the slide out keyboard and love the fact that for other they don't have to use it. THis works for everyone then.
