What does please sign in to my device mean?

This doesn't seem to be as user-friendly as nothing seems to work without pressing a hundred buttons. I can't even get Android auto to work. what does sign in my device mean.
my device is signed in it works I've logged in I've signed in.

Where's the button that describes what it means like it's talking to a five-year-old
