I googled it and couldn't find an answer. So I bought an S8 off ebay (link at end of post) and it all looked legit to me. Anyway it was taking a while for DPD to pick it up for delivery so I emailed them and in the reply email I saw this "Note: SS-G950FD-BK" and thought what the hell......all samsungs have had SM not SS. I was already skeptical about ebay and because of the delivery delay and now this has worried me. Does anyone know what it means? Is it still a legit S8?

Welcome to Android Central. The only SS I find associated with Samsung is for active glasses, and maybe a TV. I would have to guess the SS is a typo, but you won't really know until you receive it and check the IMEI.

Delivery services aren't electronic techs, so the "SS" could simply their abbreviation for "SamSung". I've seen stranger things on bills of lading. The ad on eBay looks legitimate, not some Chinese 3G-only knockoff. (A bit poorly designed page [some lines are cut off at the right] but not every company hires a real web developer to write their eBay pages either.

It says it's brand new and it's Samsung. If it's not, eBay usually takes the buyer's side, so I qouldn't worry. (And the price is about right, so that's another good sign.)
