What happened to Android desktop / x86?

I used PhoenixOS, RemixOS, LineageOS x86 and so on. But as time moves forward, I feel the idea of using Android on your laptop or desktop almost died.

Does anyone know what happened and why there are no more news and articles about these?

It was a fun idea, but everyone who was playing with the idea got tired of it, and left it to people who wanted it to compile AOSP on their own.
