What happened to my phone after I plugged the speaker to it? Buzzing and won't come on?

I was listening to music with my earphones earlier when I tried to plugged the bose speaker to my phone and I did it twice resulting to my phone shutting down twice. I gave up and turned my phone off for couple of hours and now when I was gonna use it my earphones is no longer working and it's making a buzzing sound when it was working fine before I plugged the speaker and my phone seem to shut down when I lock it as well and the battery kind of drains faster than it used to. I also kinda don't like that electric smell on its headphone jack. What possibly happened and is there any way I can do something about it?

Hi I'm the asker and yes I was also thinking the same thing. The bose speaker's connector seem to be grounded and I wish I thought it over before I plugged it to my phone. My phone still works fine except the battery drains faster than it used to I left it at 100% and came back it drops to 50% without me using it, when it shuts down on its own I had to pull my battery out so I can turn it on or else it won't open and also I can still play music but I can't use my earphones. Regarding the smell I wouldn't say its burning-like exactly I mean it does smell like most electronics out there (you know what I mean?) but I asked my sister and she said it smells unusual :/

I really can't go out we are still under lockdown and I wish once it's lifted my phone is still working fine. I'm thinking about draining it and pull out the battery and leave it like that for couple of days but I don't know if it's going to solve anything :/

It probably needs a new jack/module which is a relatively easy as these are usually separate from the mother board. The battery issue and smell suggests a short exists. Hope you get it sorted.

Hi welcome!

Which phone do you have ?

I'd say it needs more than a new jack, it probably needs a new motherboard - which for a G5 isn't worth it. Having the motherboard replaced will cost more than buying a new phone. (Even on Amazon, which isn't the cheapest source, a new G5 is only about $150.)
