No idea what has happened to my slo Mo?? I can record video and it says slo Mo buy when I go to watch it is just standard speed. Same with previously saved slow motion videos

I don't think I have ever changed my video player from stock? Any way I can check just to confirm?

Go to settings, apps, all, video - that's the built-in app. What does it say for "launch by default"? Alternatively install another free player, like VLC, and then the next time you go to play a video it will ask you which app to use. For slowmo you must use the built-in app called "video".

it doesn't have any defaults set, so that means i'm only using the stock video player correct?

Not necessarily (I wish it was that easy...) To be sure, quickly install another free video player app ( VLC is a good one, but without slowmo: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ails?id=org.videolan.vlc&hl=en&token=jG-EvjEr )

Then the next time you go to watch a video, your phone should give you options about which app to use. At that point, you can choose "Videos" (the aptly named built-in app), and (if you want to) tell it to keep using that app.

Sorry that it's so complicated, but it can actually be remarkably complicated to find out what app you're currently using for certain types of tasks, because the window ends up being named with the app used to pick the video... not the name of the app used to watch the video. Silly, but true.

On video playback, you can change the playback speed up to normal...could your playback setting be set to normal by chance?

If you want to see if the video app is default, click on the screen while it was playing and pause it. To the right you should see the play speed. In a slo-mo video, it is probably something like "x1/8". If you don't see that and if you see some kind of ad banner while you pause it, it is probably another video app. Finding it is not easy as you have to know which app it is before you could clear the default. You could go into Settings, General Tab, Apps, and click the menu button in there. Then you select Reset default apps and you will see all the apps that was set as default for something. Look thru those apps and see if any looks like a video player and clear it.

That actually means you are NOT using the Video app as default. You are using another app as default video. To find out which one, just following the instructions on my previous post and look at the list of all the apps that have defaults and see which one looks like a video player that you installed.

Brilliant... Much easier than my method ;)

Also, I didn't know about the list of defaults. Clever.

So if the video only play in slow motion in the stock video player that means that if I want to upload a video to Facebook or Instagram or any of those it will only be on normal speed??? 👎

Unfortunately yes... there are apps that can be used to convert them but they're not very good.
