What happened to the free 50GB dropbox storage?

I am also on att. You cant get the 50gb unless dropbox is preinstalled on the device. However, I have rooted with cleanrom3.3 and installed dropbox with the rom. After you open dropbox and register you will get an email that says congratulations on 48gb free. You have to do 5 of 7 things to get it though but they seem pretty easy to do.

Resurrecting this old thread ... I just found out Mediafire.com is giving away free 50GB accounts. They're nowhere near as good as Dropbox but hey, it's free. So if you missed out on the free dropbox, get this.

While I like the whole promotion of Dropbox included with bonus storage space for X amount of time I usually ignore these promotions. Because unless you plan on purchasing that extra storage at the end of the promotion period your stuck moving and finding a replacement storage space down the road.

Just a thought....I use Evernote. It's free and you can upload to a certain amount per month and then the limit starts over every month! I use it for a ton of documents as an office Intranet for sharing to my agents. Works great for us.

Hopefully a Galaxy Note ll owner Soon!

I just got my T-mobile Note 2 yesterday, during the initial setup i was prompted for Dropbox, I didn't have an account, and it said I got the 50 for 2 years when I set it up

Tried it with my At&t note 2 and nothing happened. Rooted the phone and installed cleanrom as soon as i opened dropbox I received the email. Weird..

If I remember correctly you create a dropbox account online via your web browser and then when you sign in with the android dropbox app on your device it tells you how to get 48GB more space.

I actually just went to the online dropbox page & the offer was there for me. I just got the 48gb. sweet.

I know that if you use a new account to log in you will get the free 50 Gb
but if you use an existing old account to log in can you still gets that 50 Gb?

Of course you do, there's no qualification that you have to sign up for a new account. In fact, All I did was register my Note 2 and sync my dropbox account. I actually forgot about the offer in the excitement of getting my new phone. Within a week I got an email that my DB account had increased by 50GB.

I signed up o box when first it started and I have a life time 50 GB :) and I have two accounts :)

After registering my Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 at dropbox (which came preloaded) i got this info:

You're 1 step away from a 48 GB bonus!

The seven quests below will teach you how to get the most out of your Dropbox. Finish at least five of them and we'll give you a reward!

1 Take the Dropbox tour

2 Install Dropbox on your computer

3 Put files in your Dropbox folder

4 Install Dropbox on other computers you use

5 Share a folder with friends or colleagues

6 Invite some friends to join Dropbox

7 Install Dropbox on your mobile device - Complete!

So i guess this is what one has to do to get 50 GB space.
