What I Want To See In the Evo 4G -X

No, there hasn't been an announcement. Just following the same schema as the Droid.

If I'm able to watch HDMI movies from my phone on my TV, I'm not going to be sitting right beside the phone/tv. I have a 62" TV and I want to enjoy it. So, the EVO 4G-X needs to have a mini-remote. Maybe one of those little flat remotes that you see on fans. It could slip into a compartment on the opposite end of the kickstand. That would TOTALLY blow all other phone out of the water! LOL!

really, the only things I think this phone needs in future updates:

1) Faster proc - whatever is appropriate 9-12 months from now (maybe a 2ghz one like Motorola is indicating they'll have?)

2) 8-16GB of built in memory - I'm disappointed that memory cards are not keeping up at the pace they used to. A year ago, 16gb microsdhc cards were only a little more expensive than they are today. I would like to see Sprint use the same tactics as Verizon and insist that 8GB (or more) be built into every high end phone so that we can add 16 or 32 GB cards to get us to 24-48GB of storage.

3) HID profile for bluetooth keyboards. I love my Stowaway and yes, I'm looking into a Freedom Keyboard but I don't think I need to spend that much money on a new keyboard when some new software will allow me to use my current, much loved, keyboard.

You do realize that the processor in this phone is like 2000X faster than my first computer. LOL! It runs circles around that Tandem Radioshack TRS-80.

I agree with the above with the exception of a 2 ghz processor. Dont get me wrong I wouldnt mind that kind of speed but if I had to choose I would much rather a dual core in between 1-1.6 ghz for efficiency, minimal heat and low power consumption.

things i want to see.
1) clone image from phone to tv or monitor. (what you see on screen you see on tv)
2) more bluetooth and USB support(keyboards, gamepads, mice)
3) built in software equalizer for audio.
4) better GPU in future android phones
5) if the CPU and GPU can handle it well, a higher resolution. what the hell, 5in screen with 1024x640??? might be overkill but has its uses.

WOW.. phone has been on the market less than a month and we are talking about "The Next Generation" model.... This would be like iPhone fan boys talking about the iPhone 5 or 4HD or 4G or what ever they decide to call it all ready.......

Let the phone work it's way into the market a little....

Mind you- the phone's great- but in the android fashion- these phones are literally here today and GONE in 30days as they move on to the next announcement!

Iphone fanboys don't have this problem because all older phones get software updates as best as possible- and there's only 1 phone every 12-18months. Android has fragmentation (hardware AND software) and new phones on multiple carriers cannibalizing each other every 30 days... so why are you surprised at such a thread?

Personally, I want that Samsung Hummingbird processor and SAMOLED screen in my Evo4G right now!

Droid was a Motorola phone, as is the Droid X.

Droid brand is a Verizon thing, not a phone manfacturer thing.

So HTC won't be making a EVO "X", at least not on Sprint.

Umm.....have you noticed how all of your android phones have the name droid in them regardless of what company they come from? The only one to break that will be the new Galaxy S.

It is fantastic labeling by VZW though. People can say I want a Droid, just like people say I want an iPhone.

Forget a remote, what we really need is wireless HDMI out. Then you could sit on one side of the room with your phone and send the video wirelessly to the TV on the other side of the room.

Sounds crazy, but I think it's actually feasible. We already have the hotspot capability, so all we really need is to be able to send the video over wifi.

lol, I work in the industry also and he is kinda right. The name Droid was Licensed by Motorola...

He's referring to the fact that all of Verizon's Android phones have the "Droid" name, not just the ones made by Motorola.

Droid Eris (HTC)
Droid Incredible (HTC)
Droid X (Motorola)

The Samsung Fascinate will be the only Android phone on Verizon without the "Droid" name.
