What In Gods Name Is Wrong With My Battery Life?

My battery life is usually bad but today takes the cake. I am down to 60% and have had the phone off the charger for only 2 hours. All i've done with the phone is send SIX text messages. That is it. And i was in a good service area. What could be draining my battery? I haven't changed a thing. Usually i get about 8 hours off the charger which is terrible but today i will be dead in 4.

If you have used phone's gps recently, or used an app that uses gps (maps, poynt, etc.) i recommend you reboot your phone. There is a gps bug where after it's being used it doesn't go to sleep untill rebooted, which drains the battery.

You can also toggle GPS. If you turn it off then back on, this will allow your phone to go in to standby. I got in to the habit of just shutting GPS off unless I need it. Wireless network location is usually good enough.

Like many others you may have a bad battery. I leave my wifi and gps services on all the time and my battery will still be at 30% after 12 hours. Live wallpaper is a killer. Disable that if you have one.

Being in a low service area will destroy your batter faster than anything. My battery went from 80%-20% in about an hour searching for 3G.

do you have a task killer? Could have had an internal battery over some process the phone was trying to run.

If it were mine, I'd pull the battery and see how it goes after that.

I don't have any task killers installed and i have tried a batt pull. Didn't help. Should i maybe try wiping my phone? Its been running hot and very glitchy lately to go along with the poor battery life.
