I got a sprint LG g2 (stock 4.4.2) a little while ago and it's battery life (5 hours SOT/36 hours standby) is great- especially compared to my previous phone, the HTC Evo 3D. I'm home most of the day and when I'm home I put it in airplane mode with WiFi on and I use Google voice/hangouts for text/phone calls. (My house has very poor reception. ) The problem is that I think my battery life should be even better than it is because I have airplane mode on. If I look in my battery settings, the stat "Android OS" is consistently consuming at least 17% of the battery. It also consistently displays the keep awake time is about double my screen on time. Is this normal or is something not right? I've been wondering if my network has been keeping it from going to deep sleep but I don't have root so I can't get wakelock detector because it need root for Kitkat I believe. I've also been wondering if it's Google hangouts always waiting for a voip call. What do you guys think?

The awake time shouldn't be much more than the screen on time. Try Wakelock Detector to see what's keeping it awake that doesn't have to. (Email, timers, etc,. should always be popping up for a fraction of a second - something can come in for them [or it can be time to ring] without you running the app.) See Wakelock with non-rooted KitKat if the phone isn't rooted.

But AndroidOS running 17% of the total usage is about a trifle less than normal - I wouldn't complain.
